As their site explains, their goal is to make "videos that are short, simple and focused on making complex ideas easy to understand." 

In this Connect@NMC online seminar, Lee will share a bit on their development and video process for the unique style they call "Paperworks." This session is designed to be an open discussion, so please come with some questions you may want to ask Lee about his technique or some suggestions for what other topics should be explained in "Plain English."

The Program for the Future is dedicated to Douglas Engelbart's quest to harness technology for human betterment. The two-day conference is a dialog among the key people developing new tools, interfaces, research and methods to augment collective intelligence. The 2008 Third Annual Pachyderm Conference will be held September 22-24, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas.

The 2008 NMC Summer Conference will be hosted by Princeton University in Princeton, New Jersey. Watch the video invitation!

This event, the eleventh in the NMC Series of Online Symposia, will be held April 1 - 3, 2008 online.

The 2008 NMC Directors' Meeting will be held March 12 - 13. 2008, in Austin, Texas, and will include a NMC Business Meeting and focused discussions.

The Symposium will explore the premise that technology has not only mediated communication in countless ways, but that the very ways we communicate—and even the ways we talk and think about communication—are changing as a result. It will be held at the NMC Conference Center in Second Life. Online registration opens Nov. 6.

The 2007 NMC Regional Conference will be hosted by Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Online registration opens the week of Oct 15.

Join us in Dallas, Texas for the second annual Pachyderm Conference.

This August, NMC will host a one-of-a-kind event: a week-long online symposium on the topic of creativity, held entirely inside the virtual world of Second Life.

The 2007 NMC Summer Conference will be held June 6-9, 2007, in Indianapolis, Indiana. This years host will be the School of Informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis.

Video as we know it, produced by experts and consumed by viewers, is metamorphosing into a different genre altogether, blurring the lines between producers and audiences. New video-based forms of self-expression are emerging, with notable examples like video mashups, jumpcuts, and video blogging.  Nonlinear narratives abound in this format, in which stories unfold across a series of 1 to 3-minute clips and web viewers are drawn into mysteries such as the story of Lonelygirl15.  Brand-new forms like machinima are emerging that bridge virtual worlds, gaming, and storytelling, all through the medium of the small video.

The singular focus of this gathering is to consider how these developments are impacting our lives, and how they are affecting the ways we work, learn, collaborate, and even socialize.  The conference is designed to spark an examination that explores both the positive and negative aspects of this phenomenon on learning, social interaction, self-expression, and more.

Keynoters Henry Jenkins, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Angela Thomas, University of Sydney, and Cynthia Calongne, Colorado Technical University, joined us for this 2-day examination of the convergence of web culture and video.

The 2007 NMC Directors' Meeting will be held March 7 - 8, 2007, in Denver, Colorado at the Grand Hyatt Denver Hotel. This year's meeting focused on discussions around three themes: an NMC Business Meeting; the 2007 Horizon Report; and the New Scholarship Initiative.
