Session Types

These extended-length workshops provides attendees the chance to explore a topic in depth or participate in hands-on training in a variety of new software programs. Preconference Workshops require advance registration and payment of a special fee in addition to the normal Summer Conference registration fees. All preconference sessions which will be held Wednesday, June 10, 2008.
Breakout Sessions
Breakout sessions are 75 minute presentations in a dedicated room. Time should be allowed for a 15 - 20 minute question and answer period at the end of a breakout session. Sessions can include presentations, panel discussions, and hands-on labs. Topics for a breakout session should include any of the above mentioned Session Tracks.
Five Minutes of Fame
The NMC's signature event is back in its original format! Demo your project in five minutes 'cause when the gong sounds, your Five Minutes of Fame are up!

Applications of Emerging Technologies
This track features sessions that explore the newest technoloigies applied to learning, communication, and creative expression, especially ones featured in the Horizon Report. Topics may include, but are not limited to:

The 2009 NMC Summer Conference Call for Proposals will open in early December. Check back here and watch your email for futher updates. The deadline to submit a proposal will be January 31, 2009.
The 2009 NMC Summer Conference is hosted by California State University, Monterey Bay in Monterey, California.

NMC partners are eligible to participate in the Corporate Partner Showcase as part of their membership. In addition, there are many sponsorship opportunities available for partners to participate in.
2009 NMC Corporate Partner Showcase
The Corporate Partner Showcase will be held in conjunction with the Opening Reception on Wednesday, June 10 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. The fee for participation at the Corporate Partner Showcase as an exhibitor for the Summer Conference is dependent upon your level of membership. Please refer to the corporate partner benefits in order to determine your fees.

The focus of the Pachyderm Conference was to bring together authors, developers, and others in an ongoing conversation about how to communicate effectively with digital media. The conference will provide a forum for beginners to learn from established experts, and for those with more advanced skills to exchange ideas and gather inspiration from their peers.
The theme of the Third Annual 2008 Pachyderm Conference was the power of story. Highlights will include final details about the next release of Pachyderm, which is imminent, as well as a special showcase of presentations that demonstrate the deep connection between story and audience.
2008 Pachyderm Conference to Be Held in San Antonio, Texas

Lodging Information
Attendees at the 2008 Pachyderm Conference will stay at the Hotel Contessa, located on the San Antonio Riverwalk. All conference events will take place at the Hotel Contessa.
