The institutions of the New Media Consortium are outstanding innovators, committed to pushing the boundaries of teaching, learning, and creative expression with enthusiasm, and adept in the application of technology. Already experienced with today’s technology, NMC institutions are discovering, developing, and experimenting with the technologies of tomorrow. NMC members are investigating the potential applications of emerging technologies for teaching and learning—from virtual worlds to educational gaming to new forms of scholarship—and at the same time, are defining the shape of education itself.
