Join the Friends of NMC Flickr Group!

It was via twitter that Alan Wolf of the University of Wisconsin, Madison suggested

...getting around to putting my photos into groups, and looked for an appropriate NMC Flickr group. Would NMC make a general one?

Conference on Digital Storytelling in Obidos, Portugal - June 27 2009

International Digital Storytelling Conference to be held in June 2009.

The event will be held at the Conference Center in the beautiful town of Óbidos (www.obidos.pt), some 80 km north of Lisbon. Download the flyer for event.

The State of Digital Storytelling

Nearly 80 countries worldwide have been introduced to Digital Storytelling. The massive growth in the last few years has demonstrated the strength of this distinct new genre of communication, originating from a group of California practitioners associated with the Center for Digital Storytelling. At the same time, countless practitioners have expanded and adapted the core philosophy and methods to explore many new and provocative areas of application, from using stories in mobile communication, to integrating digital stories into curriculum, awareness campaigns, and public policy advocacy.

Top Ten Reasons To Attend 2009 NMC Summer Conference

Since I work for NMC, my bias may be showing when I suggest that the NMC Summer Conference is one of the best conferences anywhere-- but I have been saying so since my first one back in 2002, years before I joined the NMC. But don't take my word, listen to how people describe their experience last year at Princeton.

In that spirit, I offer the following ten reasons (actually not in strict top 10 order) why you should do what you can to attend this year's conference in Monterey. After getting through all ten, make your way over to our online registration to sign up today.
